Welcome to nick kalson's web-page
I am a doctor interested in musculoskeletal health and disease. I graduated in medicine from Manchester University in July 2012, and then worked in London for two years to complete my junior doctor training. I moved to Newcastle in August 2014 to take up a combined clinical-academic training post in Trauma and Orthopaedic Sugery (Academic Clinical Fellowship).
I combined my medical degree with scientific training in the Wellcome Trust Centre for Cell Matrix Research, where I worked on collagen fibril assembly. During my Academic Clinical Fellowship I aim to build up a strong research protfolio in musculoskeletal disease, with the aim of improving treatment of patients with orthopaedic problems. For more information on my research please explore the links above.
I am also keen on the outdoors - cycling, climbing, skiing.... and would like to share some of the places I have been and things I have done here.
